How to Drink in the Summer Heat
Summer is in full effect and the heat is unbearable! As you may know, it’s common for people when drinking to sweat profusely. This can be from a variety of reasons like alcohol intolerance, drinking more alcohol than your liver can metabolize, or other things. With the heat of the sun beaming down on you in the summer time, the heat can make you sweat even more. Here are a few tips on how to drink (and enjoy doing so) in the summer heat.
1. Stay hydrated with water.
Drinking water in addition to drinking alcohol is not only good for your liver, it is good for your level of hydration! Sweating so much means you are probably losing valuable fluids. Make sure you alternate your booze with a bottled water every now and then.
2. Indulge in frozen treats that are infused with alcohol.
Want to booze it up but it’s just so dang hot outside? Try alcohol infused popsicles. They are refreshing, and still get the job done. Check out the Peach Sangria Popsicle recipe on this site found in the article “5 Desserts Made With Alcohol (that you can make right now)!”
3. Stay in the shade as much as possible.
I know that summer tends to make you gravitate towards the outdoors, but to avoid being overheated too quickly, feel free to move to the shade. This way you can enjoy the outdoors while still enjoying your choice beverage.
These options might seem a little “common sense” logical, but you’d be surprised how quickly intellect seems to diminish as booze ingested increases. At the end of the day, we want you to enjoy your fun in the sun, just make sure to be smart about it. Peace, love, and booze. Remember the risk of dehydration is REAL.
Cheers.
