Chicago is a city that likes to have fun, but when the weather starts to get colder, many residents look to bar crawls for fun. Not sure what a bar crawl is? Bar Crawls are organized events where participants hop from bar to bar, usually with some kind of theme or celebration in mind. As we get further into fall and winter, there are plenty of fun bar crawls to check out. Here is a quick list including some of our favorites.

Zombies vs. Vampires Bar Crawl

This lively bar crawl is hosted by Costume Crawls, and encourages participants to really go all out in regards to costumes and makeup. Thousands of people participate every year, and some guests really go all out, making it quite the spectacle to be a part of.  The organizers encourage participants to dress up by offering up $500 cash prize to the best costume of the night, along with a bunch of other prizes as well.  

Night Of The Crawling Dead

There are no shortage of Halloween themed festivities in Chicago during the fall. Among the many parties and bar crawls, the Night Of The Crawling Dead bar crawl is a stand out event. As you could imagine from the name, this bar crawl is zombie themed. The organizers encourage participants to dress in costumes, giving a spooky backdrop to an evening of fun. There are plenty of drink specials from bar to bar, and discounts for a group. So bring along some friends for pre-Halloween festivities.

Black Friday Pub Crawl

The holidays can be a stressful time of year. From the cooking, to the cleaning, to hosting parties, the day after a big holiday is time to unwind. Thanksgiving is no different. Black Friday is known for big retail sales, and for getting ahead of holiday shopping. But for those looking to have some serious fun, consider checking out this Black Friday Pub Crawl. This bar crawl is all about not spending a ton of money, so thrift store attire is suggested, and drink prices are reasonably low.

UrbanMatter A to Z Bar Crawl

Unlike the other events on this list, this bar crawl doesn’t have a holiday theme. In between Halloween and Thanksgiving is an alphabet themed event simply called the A to Z bar crawl. 12 Bars Of Xmas

This bar crawl is also referred to as TBOX, and is the biggest bar crawl in all of Chicago. Thousands of residents participate, filling the sidewalks with holiday cheer. When TBOX is in town, the neighborhood is transformed to an over the top Christmas wonderland of costumed party goers and excess.  Every bar on the list will be extremely packed, with each bar offering themed drink specials and activities.
