Philadelphia’s “City Special”
Take a happy hour trip to 1509 South Street and you’ll find the city-famous Bob and Barbara’s, home of Philadelphia’s famous Citywide Special. What is the special you ask? The special is a can of PBR and a shot of Jim Beam. Such a combination will only cost you $3.
The tradition started roughly two decades ago in ’94 thanks to the notorious Rick D.
This drink combo has become so popular that you can walk into any Philly Bar, not just Bob and Barbara’s, and find probably the majority of people in it drinking it. In fact, I’m sure you are feeling the urge to have a few specials yourself, so why not hit up our website (iwantbeerrightnow.com) and get some!
This drink is so famous that it has been featured in publications worldwide including the Washington Post, Maxim, Philadelphia City Paper, and more! I don’t know about you, but I think I’m about to head on over to B&B’s to have a special. See you there, my friends.
