What is your alcohol love language
We all know what the 5 love languages are, there’s: acts of service, quality time, gift giving, physical touch, and words of affirmation.
This is the theory that people have different ways that they communicate and understand love best. Typically with one very powerful love language and maybe a few that are meaningful, but less so.
So what do these love languages mean in terms of alcohol? Learn the secret to how your spouse feels loved the most, by starting with their most beloved beverage.
Acts of service
If your love language is acts of service, then you’re pretty much the walking epitome of “actions speak louder than words”. Cooking a meal, washing the dishes, and doing the laundry are all the ways that love means the most to you. So, when it comes to your liquor, there’s likely a little action behind it.
You’re basically an alcohol “service” card. Service cards are fun and quirky, and might read something like this:
- Imitate another person. First person to guess correctly chooses someone to drink.
- Ask a question to one person. That person can either answer truthfully or take a drink.
Gifts
Just because your love language is gifts, doesn’t mean you’re materialistic. For people like you, even a simple ice cream cone can be extremely meaningful. The gesture of someone going out of their way to give you something as a token of their love is incomparable. But what is the liquor equivalent of an ice cream cone?
Basically, you’re a walking bottle of expensive whiskey. Anything you give to another person might be considered a gift, but a true gift, a real gift with the most meaning, is something with a little extra.
Quality time
For many people, love is all about spending quality time together; going on dates, watching a movie, even just sitting on the couch without devices in hand constitutes as quality time. If this is your love language, there’s nothing that compares to being with the one you love.
The only way that makes it better is with alcohol. So, if your love language is quality time, what alcohol would you be? An expensive bottle of wine or hot toddy. Both of these drinks imply sharing, relaxing, sitting by the candlelight or fire and simply enjoying the presence of one another, like you and your love language.
Physical touch
You’d think physical touch is everyone’s love language, but some just appreciate a little extra physical touch (you know who you are). Not anything over the top, but a simple hand hold or kiss goes a long way.
If you’re a physical touch love language kind of person then when you’re in love, you’re drunk in it. You feel most loved when it’s passionate, on the edge of your seat type love, with of course, lots of physical touch. So you’re basically like shots— rum, or vodka, or whatever gets you drunk in love fastest.
Words of affirmation
Words of affirmation are one of the most common love languages. Simply put these individuals feel the most loved when they are told expressions that build them up; “You’re ways so patient” or “You have the best laugh”. I love you’s’ and other compliments, as well as deep, meaningful conversations give you that true lovey does feeling.
What alcohol are you? A wholesome, peaty, whiskey. Like you, this beverage is deep and soulful. The true meaning of love lies in deep conversation, just as deep and aged as whiskey.
