Late Night Snacks For Late Nights Out

We’ve all been there. It’s late, maybe had a bit too much to drink, so the obvious next step is to get something delicious. But drunk food isn’t just about the time of night. It’s about that fast, tasty, balance of grease and reputation. Here are some of Chicago’s best late night spots that will satisfy your inebriated cravings.

Al’s Beef

Let’s start it off with a classic. Al’s Beef is a legendary Chicago staple offering Italian beef sandwiches, hot dogs and common American fried foods. Absolutely get your Italian beef with hot peppers and add cheese if you want an indulgent snack. This place is super cheap and offers deliver for when you are at home. Many locations in the Chicago area open as late as midnight. Check with store for specifics.

DonerMen

DonerMen has got to be the best one on the list. It’s only problem, you’ll have to find it as they are a food truck targeting bars and other late night hot spots. Best known for selling dishes featuring freshly made sausages and different kinds of kebab. The gravy slathered poutine is a must have, along with the curry seasoned fries. The fare is served in an easy to hold cardboard box so you can stumble home without fear of dropping it.

The Wiener’s Circle

This well known late night spot is located near Wrigley Field and directly across the street from the Metro, music venue. It can get busy there after a baseball game or big ticket concert so I suggest sneaking out before the crowds and getting out of there. Everything on the menu is extremely inexpensive. Get a Chicago style hot dog (with everything on it), burgers, and other fried American classics.

Maxwell’s

Insanely famous walk up fast food joint located in Garfield Park, Chicago. Bright yellow and red, and likely a noticeable line of people will let you know that you’ve found the place. Go old school and get the Polish sausage, or an Italian beef with plenty of peppers. Looking for something lighter? Good luck, but perhaps a bag of fried something or other (french fries, mozzarella sticks and more) you can get for the long walk from the bar to home.

Cheesie’s

Cheesie’s is a recent addition to Chicago street food. They have a brick and mortar location off the Belmont Red Line stop, and as of lately an awesome food truck that follows large events in the summer. Cheesie’s offers delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with both classic and creative flavor combinations.

Bacci Pizzeria

While certainly not the best pizza in Chicago, this late night spot serves giant slices of thin crust pizza. Yes, giant, like bigger than your face big. They have numerous locations throughout the Chicago area, but the busiest location has to be located right outside of the Addison Red Line stop, just blocks away from Wrigley Field. It’s a favorite post game stop for locals.

White Palace Grill

This old school diner is has called Canal and Roosevelt it’s home for many years. It is well known and often mentioned on Chicago’s Best Of lists. They serve classic diner fare with a Chicago touch. Everything from burgers to brownie sundaes. Dine in for the experience, or take it to go and eat it after Uber drops you off.
